Where to Find and Buy Movie Posters Online

I thought I would comment on where I find movie posters. I've been collecting them for years so I've bought from a lot of places. Back in the day, I would buy my posters via mail order retailers, but once the Internet got up and running, I found a lot of movie poster stores online. Here are my three favorite online movie poster stores. I buy from these three pretty much exclusively.

AllPosters.com (http://www.allposters.com/) - AllPosters has been in the business of selling posters and art work since 1998. I think I've been buying from them about that long too. They carry original movie posters which is what I'm usually looking for when I buy movie posters. They also carry reproductions, commercial versions, and small 11 x 17 master prints. The posters are various prices, but Allposters always has some kind of special going on whether it be a big clearance sale or free shipping. I've always had nothing but excellent service from AllPosters. They send posters right away and they come packaged very securely. Check out AllPosters and see what you think.

Poster Planet.net Poster Planet (http://www.posterplanet.net/) - Poster Planet has also been in the posters retail business for a good while. They carry all types of posters: original, reproductions, commerical, and what they call "mini" posters otherwise know as the small master prints. They also carry oversized posters (such as quad posters from Europe) and movie lobby cards. Lobby cards are almost impossible to find. They are rarely produced for movies anymore so they are definitely a collector's dream if they are available. One of the best things about Poster Planet is that they explain very clearly what type of posters are available. They have a clear way to mark posters as original, commercial, reproductions, quads, or any other type of poster. You always know what you're buying from Poster Planet. Check out Poster Planet and see what you think.

Movie Posters USA Movie Posters USA (http://www.moviepostersusa.com/) - I found this poster retailer recently. I've ordered from them a couple of times and I have been very happy with the results. Besides the excellent service, there is another thing that makes Movie Poster USA a must stop on your movie poster Internet shopping trip. Movie Poster USA sells the large 27" x 40" one-sheets for only $11.99! That's right, most of their posters sell for only $11.99. Sometimes they also have sales that can cut the prices even more! I'm not sure if these posters are original one-sheets. I kind of doubt it myself. Original one-sheets usually sell for $19.99 or higher. Original double-sided one-sheets usually sell for about $25.00 or higher. However, if you're not really looking to buy original movie posters and you want to get great movie posters at great prices that won't mean getting a second mortgage on your house (even if you could these days!), you'll want to seriously check out Movie Posters USA.

So those are my movie poster suppliers. I highly recommend all of them for your online movie poster purchases. Catch you later!

Cloverfield Poster

Here is the poster for the yet, maybe, unnamed film by Lost and Alias creator J. J. Abrams. The name is not Monstrous as would be implied by the poster. Right now, everyone is calling the film Cloverfield, the code name for the film's production life. The film will be released on January 18, 2008.
I love this poster. It's very provocative and caught my attention immediately. Any time the Statue of Liberty has her head torn off, I'm interested in finding out what the heck happened there. This poster has the look of a teaser poster. Hopefully, a final release poster will appear closer to the film's release date that will be just as interesting.
The plot to the film is tippy top secret, but the teaser trailer, which was attached to the beginning of Transformers earlier this summer, is also an attention grabber. If you haven't seen it, you can see it at Apple.com.
Already J. J. Abrams has started a viral advertising campaign. If you love Abrams' sense of mystery, you should check out the official website for the film at http://www.1-18-08.com. Also check out the Slusho website at http://www.slusho.jp. Both of them are weird websites of course. But what else would you expect from J. J. Abrams. There is no one else that can weave a mystery better than J. J.! I'm going to enjoy finding out about this movie. Let the games begin! Until next time! Off you go!

Rob Zombie's Halloween Poster

I am loving the posters for the new remake of Halloween! From what I'm seeing of the production, it looks like it will be a cool remake. I love the original film. Rob Zombie should give an interesting, be it probably more gory, retelling of the story. John Carpenter, who wrote and directed the original film, is one of the producers. Carpenter, Zombie, and Michael Meyers! Sounds like a trio that will be hard to beat! I wonder why they didn't wait until October 31st to release it though. That date seems like a no brainer to me, but what do I know. Anyway, great poster!
