John Williams, whose music was heard at Barack Obama’s victory party on election night in Chicago’s Grant Park, will compose a new piece to be played for the incoming president during his Inaugural Ceremony on January 20, 2009.
A quartet comprised of violinist Itzhak Perlman, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, pianist Gabriela Montero and clarinetist Anthony McGill will perform the new John Williams work just before President-elect Obama takes the oath of office.
The event traditionally starts at 10 a.m. and lasts two hours. Here is the order of the program:
